Maximise the performance of your Aimex 20L Water Purifier by following our official setup and maintenance instructions. Proper initial preparation ensures your 8-stage filtration system provides crisp, mineral-rich, and contaminant-free alkaline water for your home or office.

1. Essential Filter & Stone Preparation

Before assembling your unit, you must prepare the filtration components to ensure optimal flow and water purity.

  • 8-Stage Filter Cartridge: Submerge the cartridge in a bucket of clean water for at least 12 hours. Gently shake it while underwater to release trapped air. Rinse under a cold tap until the water runs clear.

  • Plastic Dome Filter: Soak in water for 10–15 minutes. Use a soft, clean sponge (without detergent) to wipe the surface.

  • Maifan Mineral Stones: Rinse the mineral stones under running water to remove any natural sediment or dust before placing them in the bottom tank.

2. Step-by-Step Assembly Instructions

  1. Tap Installation: Attach the tap to the lower tank. Ensure one silicone washer is on the outside and one is on the inside. Tighten firmly to create a waterproof seal.

  2. Mineral Stones: Spread the rinsed Maifan stones evenly at the bottom of the lower tank.

  3. The Filter Stack: Screw the 8-stage filter into the bottom of the middle joiner/top tank section. Ensure it is threaded straight to prevent unfiltered water from leaking through.

  4. Ceramic Dome: Secure the ceramic dome into the upper tank using the provided plastic nut.

  5. Final Assembly: Stack the lower tank on the base, place the middle joiner/upper tank on top, and finish with the lid.

3. Important: Placement & Algae Prevention

Critical Safety Tip: Keep your 20L Water Dispenser out of direct sunlight. The Aimex filtration process is highly effective at removing chlorine—the chemical used in tap water to prevent organic growth. Because your filtered water is now "living" and chemical-free, exposure to UV light (sunlight) can trigger algae growth.

  • Where to place: Choose a cool, shaded corner of your kitchen or a dark area of your office.

  • What to avoid: Never place the unit on a sunny windowsill or near a glass door.

  • Maintenance: If you notice any green tint, wash the tanks with a natural vinegar and water solution immediately.

4. Flushing the System

Once assembled, fill the top tank and allow it to filter completely into the lower tank. Discard the first full 20L cycle. This initial flush clears any remaining carbon fines and settles the mineral stones. Your second tank of water will be perfect for consumption.

5. Maintenance Schedule

  • Every Month: Clean the tanks with warm water and vinegar.

  • Every 6 Months: Replace the 8-Stage Filter Cartridge.

  • Every 12 Months: Replace the Plastic Dome and Maifan Mineral Stones.
