Filter Set Up Guide
Water Filter Set Up Guide
Welcome to the Aimex Australia family! We are committed to providing you with clean, crisp, and pure-tasting water. To get the best performance from your new filtration system, it is important to follow these set up instructions carefully.
Whether you’ve purchased a Benchtop Purifier, a Gravity System, or replacement 8-Stage filters, follow the steps below to get started.
1. Preparing Your Filter Cartridge
Before installing any new filter (including 8-stage fluoride reduction or carbon cartridges), you must properly rinse and prime it to remove any excess carbon dust.
-
Rinse: Run cold tap water through the top of the filter for approximately 5–10 minutes, or until the water running out of the bottom is completely clear.
-
Soak: Submerge the filter in a clean bucket or bowl of cold water for about 12 hours. This ensures the filtration media is fully activated.
-
Note: Do not use boiling water or detergents to clean your filters.
2. Setting Up Your Water Purifier Tank (16L & 20L)
-
Wash the Components: Wash the top and bottom tanks, lid, and base with mild soapy water and rinse thoroughly.
-
Install the Tap: Insert the tap through the hole in the bottom tank. Ensure the silicone washers are placed on both the inside and outside of the tank wall to create a watertight seal. Tighten the nut firmly by hand.
-
Assemble the Filter: Screw the prepared filter cartridge into the joining ring or the bottom of the top tank (depending on your model). Ensure it is firm but do not over-tighten.
-
Place the Stones: If your unit includes Maifan Stones, rinse them under tap water and place them at the bottom of the lower tank.
-
First Fill: Assemble the tanks and fill the top chamber with water. Allow the water to filter through to the bottom tank. We recommend discarding the first full tank of water to ensure any remaining fine particles are flushed out.
3. Phoenix Gravity System Set Up
-
Prime the Elements: Use the priming washer provided. Hold the filter element against your tap and gently turn on the water to force air and dust out of the pores of the carbon.
-
Install Elements: Place the elements through the holes in the upper chamber and secure them with the wing nuts provided.
-
Check Seals: Ensure all washers are seated correctly to prevent unfiltered water from leaking into the bottom chamber.
4. Maintenance & Care Tips
-
Filter Lifespan: For optimal performance and health, we recommend replacing your 8-stage filters every 6 months or after 5,000 litres—whichever comes first.
-
Positioning: Keep your water purifier in a cool spot away from direct sunlight to prevent the growth of algae.
-
Cleaning: Give your tanks a quick clean with a soft sponge every time you replace your filters.
